We took Mangia tool sets to China, where knives and forks are not always available. The knife, fork and spoon pack neatly into the plastic cover, and a set is not too heavy to carry around. The cover could be a tad larger - it is a snug fit, and the cover on one of our sets cracked when snapped shut when the implements were not quite nested together perfectly. The cover was handy following a meal, when the cover could be snapped over the implements and the food residue was prevented from making a mess inside a pocket or purse. I purchased a set of these for myself and a coworker so we could stop using the plastic utensils the office provides. The knife is awesome as often a plastic knife or fork would break when trying to cut up salads. This little set is quite sturdy thus, I highly recommend it.

I agree with others, the clamshell cover could be sturdier however; the first one lasted about 6 months with almost daily use. I called the manufacturer and was able to order replacement covers so we're all set there! Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

I bought this set to bring to work with lunch and I'm quite happy with it. The knife is the main unit, it has a hollow rectangular tube for a handle, and the knife blade is set kitty corner in the tube leaving a triangular slot on either side of the blade you slide the spoon and fork handles into for storage, you then have a plastic clamshell cover that you fit over the heads of the utensils so you don't get any leftover lunch smeg on whatever you are storing the unit in, and the cover has a couple of plastic snaps to secure the cover over the utensils.

It is a decent solid set of utensils that won't bend or break under normal use. The size of the fork and spoon are a little smaller than a normal sized salad fork and teaspoon, but they are big enough so you don't really notice the size difference. The one design flaw I've found with this and is what lowers it to four stars instead of five is the clamshell cover.

It's made out of a brittle plastic that I've already managed to crack after only two weeks of it bouncing around in my backpack. A strip of duck tape fixed it easily enough, but it also has 3 thin plastic hinges on it that will eventually break. The two clamshell halves are held together at the top by a plastic hinge, and once you insert the utensils in the cover and close it, there are two more plastic tabs with hinges that snap into the other half of the clamshell to hold it closed on the other end. I'm figuring I'll get about a year of daily use out of it before the cover is all duck tape and held closed by rubber bands. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews
